Environmental Geoscience [ENVG]

This major in the Geology Department  provides a broad-based program designed to meet the professional and graduate school demands of environmental geoscience.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Recall and explain how the natural world operates and how humans affect and are affected by their environment.
  2. Collect and analyze data using the methods and tools of environmental geoscience in field and laboratory settings.
  3. Communicate results and interpretations of environmental geoscience in written reports and papers.
  4. Communicate results and interpretations of environmental geoscience in spoken presentations.
  5. Apply the knowledge and skills of environmental geoscience to real-world problems and settings.

C. Elective Environmental and Geology Courses: 6 credit hours


Select six credit hours from the following:

D. College Requirements: 39 credit hours


Composition and General Education courses: 18-24 credit hours
Foreign Language courses: 0-3 credit hours
Free elective courses: 12-21 credit hours
