Admission Requirements
In addition to meeting the requirements for admission to a degree program as outlined below, an applicant for enrollment in the program leading to the Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Systems must submit the following:
- Official transcripts documenting a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Applicants are generally required to have an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. However,circumstances including, but not limited to, endeavors following completion of a bachelor's degree and performance in the last two years of a bachelor's degree program will be considered in reviewing applications from students with lower grade point averages. Students who feel they are qualified in spite of an undergraduate grade point average below a 2.5 are encouraged to contact the department before applying for admission.
- A resume or curriculum vitae.
- A one-to-two page statement of educational and professional goals relating to the MS program.
- Three letters of recommendation from former professors or professional colleagues who can speak to the candidate's preparation for the MS program.
- Applicants are expected to have a sufficient background in physics and calculus prior to applying. Applicants who lack sufficient academic background may be required to complete the three credit hour course PHY 410: Modern Physics in addition to the degree program.
