PED 663 - Adapted Physical Education Practicum Prepare advanced candidates in adapted physical education, leadership and advocacy strategies for K-12 physical education and physical activity programs through supervised field experiences in K-12 schools, disability sport and/or physical activity camps and programs. Prerequisites: PED 610, PED 611, PED 635, PED 636 PED 638 and PED 644; CARR, SAVE, current first aid and CPR/AED certification; cumulative 3.0 grade point average. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code M = offered in summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply content and pedagogical practices appropriate to the learners, the environment, and long and short-term outcomes and goals.
- Apply planning, leadership, and evaluation skills as a unified process to achieve short-term outcomes and plan for maintenance of long-term goals.
- Demonstrate leadership and advocacy skills that reflects systematic inquiry in adapted physical education and contributes to the growth and professional learning of others.
