PED 534 - Interdisciplinary Collaboration for Children with Multiple Disabilities Organization, administration, planning, teaching and evaluation of interdisciplinary programs that serve children with severe/profound and multiple disabilities. includes examination of interdisciplinary research and evidenced based practices that emphasize instructional strategies for low incidence disabilities in school-based settings as well as the implementation of educational decision models, cross disciplinary inclusive practices, and interdisciplinary teams approach for families of children with multiple disabilities. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code M = offered in summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Express and interpret discipline specific standards that inform interdisciplinary practice to serve children with multiple disabilities.
- Discuss, analyze and compare disciplines that address the needs of learners with multiple disabilities.
- Discuss, analyze and compare educational programs, curricular models, and instructional strategies that address the needs of learners with multiple disabilities.
- Apply assessment strategies across disciplines to develop comprehensive present level of performance of the student with multiple, severe and profound disabilities.
- Develop interdisciplinary strategies to be implemented when working with students with multiple, severe and profound disabilities and their families
