SHH 671 - Voice Disorders An in-depth study of the production of voice and the assessment and treatment of voice disorders. Open to students in the M.S. program in communication sciences and disorders. Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C- in SHH 681. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and describe the relevant anatomy of normal voice production, including laryngeal and respiratory anatomy.
- Identify and describe basic respiratory and laryngeal physiology for speech.
- List characteristics of, and perceptually identify, functional voice disorders.
- Identify characteristics of structural/medically-based voice disorders.
- Identify and rate voice quality and voice characteristics using perceptual rating scales.
