SHH 651 - Multiculturalism and Bilingualism This course develops competencies in assessment and intervention of culturally and linguistically diverse children and offers a more general overview of adults. Open to students in the M.S. program in communication sciences and disorders. Prerequisite: Minimum grade C- in SHH 641; Minimum grade C- in SHH 677 (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code O = offered occassionally
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify one's own culture.
- Identify cultural and linguistic variables that may impact speech-language services to culturally and linguistically diverse persons.
- Explain assessment and treatment options for culturally and linguistically diverse persons.
