Exploration of determinants of health, health behavior theory, health literacy, and the roles and responsibilities of a health educator.  (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply the key health behavior theories and models that guide the practice of health education. 
  2. Analyze the social, behavioral, and environmental determinants of health. 
  3. Apply personal and organizational health literacy concepts and skills. 
  4. Apply the roles, responsibilities, philosophies, and scope of practice for an ethical health educator.
