EDU 631 - Curriculum Construction in Health Education Skills to plan, instruct, and assess skills-based health education aligned with national and state standards. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code A = offered every semester
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Plan a health education curriculum scoping and sequencing aligned with National and New York State health education standards.
- Apply principles of learning when designing individual, small group, and whole class learning activities and assessments.
- Design and align measurable learning outcomes, assessments (formative and summative), and instructional practices supporting acquisition of functional health knowledge, health-related skills, and health beliefs.
- Select and create developmentally appropriate, culturally appropriate, inclusive, and challenging instructional experiences that engage learners regardless of their race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, family structure, English language proficiency, and physical or cognitive ability.
