CHE 510 - Chemical Instrumentation

Theory of instrumental design. Application to a variety of spectrophotometric techniques in chemistry. Prerequisite: CHE 310 or graduate status. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Design experiments to characterize chemical compounds and quantify analytes using chemical instrumentation.
  2. Diagnose problems encountered while conducting analyses using chemical instrumentation.
  3. Describe how common pieces of chemical instrumentation work.
