SHH 485 - Ethics in Practice: Habilitation & Rehabilitation Sciences

Examination and discussion of ethical practice, and scenarios/situations specifically related to service delivery in practices of habilitative and rehabilitative sciences, encompassing ethical considerations from early intervention through geriatric and end-of-life care.  Prerequisite: Special permission. Fulfills: PRES (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe foundational principles of rehabilitation ethics.
  2. Discuss ethical decision-making framework across the lifespan.
  3. Apply ethical decision-making framework in classroom discussions and presentations.
