EXS 344 - Medical Terminology

Recognition and interpretation of the specific terminology used in the allied health or medical fields for both clinical and non-clinical health professions. Prerequisite: BIO 301 or BIO 302. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and explain the function of specific word parts.
  2. Describe how medical compound terms (words) are constructed.
  3. Build compound terms using multiple word parts in a combining form.
  4. Deconstruct and analyze key compound medical terms.
  5. Define key compound medical terms.
