THT 120 - Acting I

Introduction to acting techniques through exploration of stage movement, voice and diction, basic makeup, improvisation and theatre games. Practicum. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of foundational acting tenants, including objective, intention, obstacle, stakes, and text.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to release physical tension to prepare for actors work.
  3. Demonstrate effective, expressive use of the full body in playing character, expressing relationships, objectives, and intentions.
  4. Demonstrate strong collaborative skills as an actor.
