Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the history, concepts, and theories of social stratification and inequality.
  2. Summarize the class structure of the U.S., the dynamics of social mobility, and status attainment.
  3. Describe processes that contribute to social inequality.
  4. Analyze the role social institutions play in creating and maintaining social stratification both in the U.S. and globally.
