SOC 360 - Self and Society

Theories of structure, function of self in society, dealing primarily with the American case. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or 150 or ANT 102. Fulfills: LASR. Notes: Category C.(3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply the social psychological imagination to concrete examples of social interactions.
  2. Describe the links between the individual self and society through the concepts of social interactions, situations, and culture.
  3. Detail different theories on individual agency and social structure.
