PSY 360 - Applied Behavior Analysis I Principles, techniques of operant conditioning and experimental analysis of behavior. Relationship to selected areas such as hyperactivity, inattentiveness, aggression, acting out and academic deficiencies. Prerequisites: PSY 101, three additional credit hours of psychology Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the fundamental principles of applied behavior analysis.
- Describe how to assess skill deficits.
- Describe procedures to help individuals develop new behaviors.
- Describe how to assess the function of individuals' behavior.
- Describe how to reinforce alternative behaviors.
- Describe how to extinguish problematic behaviors.
- Describe how to prevent problematic behaviors.
