PSY 360 - Applied Behavior Analysis I

Principles, techniques of operant conditioning and experimental analysis of behavior. Relationship to selected areas such as hyperactivity, inattentiveness, aggression, acting out and academic deficiencies. Prerequisites: PSY 101, three additional credit hours of psychology Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe the fundamental principles of applied behavior analysis. 
  2. Describe how to assess skill deficits. 
  3. Describe procedures to help individuals develop new behaviors. 
  4. Describe how to assess the function of individuals' behavior. 
  5. Describe how to reinforce alternative behaviors. 
  6. Describe how to extinguish problematic behaviors.
  7. Describe how to prevent problematic behaviors.
