PED 245 - Activities for Children

This course is designed for students to gain understanding, knowledge, appreciation and experiences in interdisciplinary education utilizing movement activities as educational learning tools. Notes: General course for non-majors.(1 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate and identify the basic locomotor skills used in physical education.  
  2. Integrate an interdisciplinary learning experience through physical movement.  
  3. Identify and create developmentally appropriate learning environments for elementary children (targeting the three domains of physical education). 
  4. Develop professional resource materials that relate to a K-6 curriculum scope and sequence that utilizes interdisciplinary teaching through physical education.  
  5. Exhibit professional and responsible behaviors that reflect a commitment to and respect for the profession.
