HLH 492 - Chronic and Communicable Diseases

Contemporary concepts of causation and control of chronic and communicable disease. Disease patterns analyzed in both individual, community environments. Causative factors, methods of intervention stressed. Health majors only. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe the components, functions and assessment procedures of a comprehensive health history and physical assessment.
  2. Explain key diagnostic tests and treatment regimens for selected diseases.
  3. Explain key determinants of health that impact human health and health disparities.
  4. Describe basic principles of pathogenic processes of selected diseases.
