HLH 390 - Environmental Health and Ecology

Public health activities within the scope of "environmental health." Health majors only. Prerequisite: Completion of the natural science requirements in the General Education program or consent of the department. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Analyze the impact/role of public health systems and the environment in the design and planning of community health interventions.
  2. Use the research literature to identify evidence-based practices for public health interventions.
  3. Communicate environmental health information in oral and written forms through a variety of sources and channels.
  4. Investigate contemporary environmental health problems and programs.
  5. Describe the impact of air, water, noise and toxic substances on human health.
