HLH 111 - International Health and Culture The course provides a cross-cultural analysis of the current global health situation through comparison of factors that affects the well-being of people of the world, as well as actions that are being taken and can be taken to improve world health. A major focus of the course involves comparing and contrasting health problems and approaches to health improvement in various cultures and countries. Fulfills: GE 3, GESS and GE 6, GEWH; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply online research skills to study global health problems and interventions.
- Identify multiple perspectives in the study of disease, illness and healthcare.
- Identify cultural influences in global health promotion efforts of international agencies.
- Investigate healthcare-related problems and programs of another country from a cross-cultural perspective.
- Compare the health-related beliefs and practices of other cultures to their own.
