EXS 490 - Independent Research in Exercise Science

Independent research project for the exercise science concentration or minor. Student will undertake and complete a research project in the area of exercise science. The project will include collecting and analyzing data and presenting the results in writing and in a formal oral presentation. Prerequisite: EXS 489. Fulfills: PRES. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Design and execute a mini-thesis project experiment related to human movement.
  2. Test hypotheses that they formulated based on their critique of scientific published literature in the area of Exercise Science.
  3. Defend experimental findings in a scientific forum venue to other students and faculty in Exercise Science.
  4. Generate a written document that includes all the primary areas of an experimental thesis.
