Environmental Geoscience [ENVG]

This major in the Geology Department  provides a broad-based program designed to meet the professional and graduate school demands of environmental geoscience.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Recall and explain how the natural world operates and how humans affect and are affected by their environment.
  2. Collect and analyze data using the methods and tools of environmental geoscience in field and laboratory settings.
  3. Communicate results and interpretations of environmental geoscience in written reports and papers.
  4. Communicate results and interpretations of environmental geoscience in spoken presentations.
  5. Apply the knowledge and skills of environmental geoscience to real-world problems and settings.

Program Standard Grade Point Average Requirement

The major GPA is calculated by all courses identified in the college catalog as required for the major. In addition, this program has an established program standard GPA which may be used to determine progress in the program.

    • Minimum GPA of 2.0 in all GLY courses
  • Environmental Geoscience Major Requirements
    • Minimum 29 credits in GLY courses
