SOC 375 - Sociology of Law

(B)Law is analyzed with respect to its functions as a means of social control and its relationships with other social institutions. Topics include an interdisciplinary survey of jurisprudence, the natural law approach versus legal and cultural realism, law as a source of crime, the administration of justice, and law in non-Western cultures.Prerequisite: SOC 100 or 150 or ANT 102.Also listed as CRM 375.Fulfills: LASR.(3 cr. hr.)
