SPM 459 - Mega-Event Practicum

Applied learning experience to work at a sport mega-event. Class meetings will take place before and after the event to discuss, prepare, train, debrief, and critically analyze the event. Credit value and course structure vary based on the event. (1-6 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Examine the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully execute a large scale sporting event.
  2. Discuss principles of large-scale event management.
  3. Effectively apply specialized skills in the management of a large-scale sporting event.
