SCI 127 - Careers and Community in STEM

STEM career development seminar.  Special consideration will be given to the needs and challenges of groups who are underrepresented in STEM majors. Lecture/Lab Hours: 50 min lecture per week for 8 weeks in a semester. Grading: Grading: H, S, U grades. (0.5 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Develop strong personal career goal statements and use them to apply for opportunities to pursue research under the direction of STEM faculty.
  2. Develop and execute skills to promote successful STEM learning via effective studying and self-assessment.
  3. Implement a healthy balance between academics and physical, social, and emotional well-being, and examine the challenges that underrepresented groups have in these areas.
