POL 261 - Comparative Politics: Europe

Introduction to constitutional structure, central political institutions and dynamics of political process of selected European nations with emphasis on contemporary period. Not open to students with credit for POL 260. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

 

  1. Identify major concepts, themes, and theoretical perspectives from the field of comparative European politics.
  2. Analyze European politics from a comparative perspective, applying basic principles of comparative research methodology.
  3. Contrast the distinctive histories, political institutions, economic systems, and cultures of European countries and regions.
