ENG 209 - Introduction to the Digital Humanities

Introduction to basic theories and methodologies of the digital and public humanities including topics such as data visualizations, podcasting, and extended realities (AR/VR) with hands-on work with digital tools.   Fulfills: GEHU, GEST; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code C = offered at least once every two years

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of the history of development and use of digital tools and how they have been used as aids to research in the humanities. 
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of metadata and its relationship to data in creating and using digital humanities tools.
  3. Work collaboratively to create and use digital tools.
