An introduction to human services as both a discipline and as a career. Exploration of the history and underpinnings of human services. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Summarize the history and evolution of the human services movement. 
  2. ​Explain the responsibilities of professionals within a variety of human services settings. 
  3. Outline the responsibilities of human services professionals in working with individuals with a variety of needs. 
  4. Apply ethical standards within the human services profession. 
  5. Identify personal strengths and areas of growth as a human services practitioner.
