HLH 369 - Dimensions of Human Sexuality

Survey of the dynamics of human sexuality; identification and examination of basic issues in human sexuality as relating to society as a whole from the perspective of personal development, human behavior, social issues and health implications. Not open to students with credit for HLH 302. Fulfills: GE 11, GEDI; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explore their own and others' personal feelings and values related to sexuality issues.
  2. Distinguish between behaviors that foster and those that hinder well-being.
  3. Describe the physical, social, emotional and intellectual factors that influence sexual behaviors.
  4. Describe historical and cultural aspects of human sexuality.
  5. Utilize computerized sources of information to access sexual health-related data.
  6. Analyze valid and reliable sources of sexual health-related data.
