THT 470 - Theatre Management

Theoretical and practical aspects of theatre management including organizations, productions, audience development, budgeting and business practices. Practicum. Prerequisite: Consent of department. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply business concepts/skills that are necessary to run/supervise the front of house and to publicize a single production or an entire season of events in an efficient sequence.
  2. Use up-to-date technological and traditional methods in publicity/graphics, ticketing, and backstage management.
  3. Create mission statements, budgets, staffing line charts, and marketing campaigns for arts organizations.
