SPM 420 - Sport Entrepreneurship

A comprehensive review of business opportunities in the sport industry. Students will develop and execute business plans that draw on areas of interest including management, marketing, finance, team building, creativity and leadership. Prerequisite: SPM 175. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe financial management principles and terms.
  2. Recognize, critique, and evaluate revenue and expenditure management.
  3. Discuss financial management in sport organizations public and private nonprofit and for-profit.
  4. Develop and construct a business plan.
