SCI 142 - Integrated Physics and Chemistry Activity-based, discussion-oriented science course for childhood education majors, involving experiments and problem-solving activities in areas typically classified as chemistry and physics. Gives students insight into some of the basic aspects of nature, helps develop a better understanding of science, and improves ability to teach these ideas. Fulfills: GE 2, GENS; LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain how the physical world works, based on the fundamental principles of chemistry and physics.
- Apply models and theories in chemistry and physics to make predictions about the physical world.
- Ask scientific questions, and design and carry out experiments to answer them.
