Tensions between theory and practice; analysis of nature of justice and its implementation in society. Prerequisite: POL 270. Fulfills: LASR; WI. (3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain competing theories of justice and their underlying theoretical commitments.
  2. Demonstrate an ability to apply various theories of justice to real-world situations.
  3. Compare various theories of justice in terms of their expected effects on people in society.
