PHI 135 - Introduction to Ethics

Exploration of the world's major ethical theories. Special attention is given to the science of the environment and the moral problems surrounding it. Other problems likely addressed include racial and sexual discrimination, abortion and euthanasia, and problems in bioethics and business ethics. Fulfills: GE 12, GEST; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Summarize the major theories of ethics.
  2. Apply these theories to contemporary society.
  3. Write a reasoned ethical argument.
