PED 157 - Orienteering Activities for Educators Introduces the broad spectrum of "orienteering" activities which use various navigational tools, map-reading skills, compass and GPS devices as a way to navigate indoor and outdoor spaces. Learning experiences are designed for educators and will cover a range of educational applications from recreational to instructive to sport/competitive. (1 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Integrate the fundamental skills, knowledge, and strategies of orienteering.
- Demonstrate appropriate etiquette during orienteering activities or races.
- Explain how orienteering can contribute to lifetime physical fitness and wellness.
