Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe the field of economic development through its historical and political contexts.
  2. Describe how development policy has evolved in reaction to real and perceived failures of past policies.
  3. Discuss the classical and current concerns and debates in development economics.
  4. Connect economic theory to current policies.
