ECO 300 - Intermediate Macroeconomics

Analysis of factors determining national income, employment and production levels. Social accounting, comparative study of Keynesian and classical macrotheories, monetary and fiscal policy and economic growth. Prerequisite: ECO 110 and ECO 222. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify how major macroeconomic variables are determined.
  2. Compare different schools of macroeconomic thought and their policy implications.
  3. Analyze contemporary debates on the effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy, and the role of government in the economy.
  4. Discuss the roles of monetary and fiscal policies in regulating the macroeconomy.
