CHE 461 - Senior Seminar in Chemistry and Biochemistry Designed to give students advanced scientific communication experience. Methods for chemistry information retrieval and effective reading of the chemical literature will be covered. Participants will attend seminars presented by visiting speakers after exploring research literature on topics related to the speaker's expertise. May be repeated for one additional credit. No more than 1 credit may be applied to the chemistry minor. Prerequisites: CHE 361; and CHE 310, CHE 431, CHE 451 and CHE 477 which may be taken concurrently. (1 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain current ongoing research and development, integrated across the subdisciplines of Chemistry.
- Communicate scientific findings, their context, and relevance in written assignments and oral presentation.
- Formulate and ask informed questions on oral presentations of novel scientific work.
