BIO 521 - Molecular Biology Study of biological processes at the molecular level, including topics such as DNA replication, recombination and repair, RNA transcription and splicing, epigenetics, and gene/genome evolution. Lectures and supplemental readings from the current scientific literature. Prerequisites: A grade of C- or better in BIO 210 and BIO 312. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the field of molecular biology.
- Interpret results and evaluate the scientific literature in this field.
- Demonstrate the ability to clearly and concisely present published scientific literature in the field to others.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the connections between the field of molecular biology and other biological disciplines.
