ATS 404 - Ceramics IV Self-directed study expanding on earlier course work. Advanced glaze chemistry, other technical and aesthetic aspects of pottery design and execution. Independent research, group critiques, lectures. Prerequisite: ATS 304. Fulfills: LASR. Notes: The State University of New York at Cortland reserves the right to select and retain indefinitely any student artwork done in connection with course work completed at the university.(3 cr. hr.) Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Investigate theoretical compositions of glaze and clay chemistry.
- Create a body of work exhibiting an understanding of advanced technical and aesthetic aspects of pottery design.
- Demonstrate an ability to engage in self-directed study of ceramic processes, design and execution.
