ANT 307 - World Prehistory Survey of human cultures around the world from earliest evidence to development of civilizations. Human behavior in groups before the time of written records emphasized; comparison and contrast of such social organization through time provided. Prerequisite: ANT 102, 103, or 104 Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code C = offered at least once every two years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify the major cultural, demographic and evolutionary milestones in human prehistory.
- Discuss the different ways ancient human societies around the world adapted to their physical and social environments.
- Compare the various methodologies and theories archaeologists have used to analyze the archaeological record.
