AFS 201 - Team and Leadership Fundamentals I

Provides a fundamental understanding of both leadership and team building. The lessons and course flow are designed to prepare students for field training and leadership positions in the detachment. (1 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Summarize the importance of self-assessment to effective leadership.
  2. Describe that effective listening positively affects mission accomplishment.
  3. Identify the impact of followership in mission accomplishment.
  4. Describe the principles Full-Range Leadership.
  5. Describe the types of systematic problem-solving processes.
  6. Recognize the concept of motivation as it relates to individual performance and motivating subordinates.
  7. Describe the importance of and the relationship between standards and accountability.
