REC 536 - Therapeutic Recreation Interventions II In-depth examination of individual and group techniques used in therapeutic recreation practice, including therapeutic interventions, modalities, instruction, leadership, supervision and counseling techniques. Primary focus on interventions and facilitation techniques commonly used in recreational therapy practice. Prerequisite: REC 435 or 535 or equivalent or consent of department. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply individual and group leadership skills.
- Develop helping relationship skills.
- Identify therapeutic recreation interventions, facilitation techniques, activities and modalities used in therapeutic recreation.
- Develop a plan to implement and facilitate therapeutic recreation interventions and services for diverse clientele, settings, cultures and contexts.
