PED 655 - Instructional Strategies in Physical Education Aid students in gaining understanding, knowledge and experience in the design of appropriate learning experiences, and the use of effective pedagogical skills in presenting a K-12 physical education curriculum aligned with state and national standards and to prepare them for field experience in K-5 schools. Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Design safe instruction that shows knowledge of individual and group motivation and behavior, is developmentally appropriate and meets State and National benchmarks, standards and laws.
- Create and use appropriate instructional cues, prompts and demonstration, design developmentally appropriate learning environments and select appropriate teaching strategies for K-12 students.
- Apply motor development, language acquisition and literacy development theories and practices of children in lesson planning and rubric design.
