ICC 521 - Grammar for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Surveys English grammar from a three-dimensional perspective — structure, meaning and use, follows a descriptive approach and emphasizes grammatical issues typically observed in the language produced by English learners. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of parts of speech and English syntax.
- Demonstrate knowledge of ENL (English as a New Language) grammar.
- Explain grammatical issues (as related to form, meaning, and context of use) to ELLs (English language learners).
