REC 607 - Therapeutic Recreation Internship Supervised therapeutic recreation internship in agency cooperating with the Recreation, Parks and Leisure Studies Department. Capstone experience that integrates theory with practice for a minimum of 14 weeks and 560 hours. Prerequisites: Approval of advisor; REC 530 and 533; completion of developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, anatomy and physiology. Consult department graduate advisement manual for specific prerequisites and policies. S, U grades assigned. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code A = offered every semester
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply the therapeutic recreation process, use diverse, structured ways of thinking to solve problems related to different facets of professional practice, engage in advocacy and stimulate innovation.
