Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Summarize and critically analyze the major components and history of special education legislation and regulation within the United States.
- Describe the rights that are secured to students with disabilities and their families under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Demonstrate advocacy skills used to collaborate with and support children, families, and colleagues in understanding and navigating the processes of special education.
