SHH 672 - Fluency Disorders Study of etiological views of stuttering and other fluency disorders. Emphasis on comprehensive evaluation procedures and treatment models for people who stutter, exploring issues within a developmental and multicultural framework. Open to students in the M.S. program in communication sciences and disorders. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify concepts and terminology associated with fluency disorders, including an objective definition of stuttering and theories about the onset and symptoms of stuttering.
- Explain and apply assessment procedures for individuals with fluency disorders.
- Discuss and practice general treatment approaches to fluency disorders.
