REC 516 - Tourism and Events Planning

Techniques and strategies used in the development of sustainable tourism and related events. Considers the resources necessary for the development of tourism and events along with an analysis of the economic, cultural, and environmental impacts and opportunities. Not open to students with credit for REC 415.  (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills related to the development of effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  2. Identify and describe the value of effective and ethical logistical planning for tourism and event management.
  3. Recognize and explain the cultural and ethical implications of contract negotiations related to tourism and events.
  4. Explain the real-world implications of marketing strategies for tourism and events.
