PED 661 - Physical Education Practicum II Prepare advanced teacher candidates in planning, teaching and evaluating strategies for K-12 physical education through supervised field experiences in K-12 schools. H, S and U grades assigned. Prerequisites: PED 526; CARR, SAVE, current first aid and CPR/AED certification, and cumulative 3.0 grade point average. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code S = offered in spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply content and pedagogical knowledge appropriate to the learners, the environment, and long and short-term outcomes and goals of physical education.
- Integrate planning, leadership and evaluation as a unified process to achieve short-term outcomes and plan for maintenance of long-term goals.
- Differentiate physical education and physical activity programming based on personal and cultural characteristics of learners and communities.
- Demonstrate leadership that reflects systematic inquiry into professional knowledge and practice and the context and learners served.
- Communicate results of inquiry in the profession and community effectively.
