HLH 505 - Health and the Media The course provides an overview and examination of the manner in which health-related topics are covered in different media. Major areas of review are the impact of media portrayals on health-related behavior and the use of media in health education/ promotion programs. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

- Discuss mass media theories.
- Explore the role of mass media on the health of the nation.
